Get Connected to Volunteer Opportunities

As we continue to grow and flourish in a world connected by technology, United Way of Southeast Alaska is working to make your volunteering life more productive, fun, and engaging!  Recently, we partnered with Galaxy Digital, a web-based communications firm, to provide a robust and versatile volunteer engagement and management tool to communities across Southeast Alaska.

Similar to social media platforms like Facebook or Google+, regional non-profit organizations create profiles on Get Connected that highlight their mission statements, contact information, needs, and events. Participating agencies can then post available advocacy, employment, and volunteer opportunities as well as any in-kind donations that they may need.  

Likewise, interested volunteers create individual profiles specifically tailored to their schedule and interests, join volunteer groups, become fans of participating agencies, and track non-profit agencies’ needs and events.  Individuals in search of volunteer opportunities may also use Get Connected to conduct detailed searches on open opportunities.

Interested in becoming a participating organization:
Fill out and submit an agency registration form to begin the partnership process. Once your form has been received, United Way of Southeast Alaska will review your information and follow up with you via e-mail to complete the process.  Please note that while United Way of Southeast Alaska strives to process all partnership requests as quickly as possible, it may take 2-3 days to review your submission.  In order to provide our partners and volunteers with the best customer service possible, we're unable to post volunteer opportunities for organizations that have not completed the partnership process.

Interested in becoming a volunteer:
To sign up as an interested volunteer, fill out the new user registration form.  Then, tailor your profile to receive custom notifications about opportunities that meet your schedule and interests.  Do you routinely volunteer with specific non-profit organizations?  Become a fan of participating organizations on Get Connected to receive notifications about their upcoming events and volunteer needs.
